TASK is VERY fortunate to have such a wonderful group of volunteers associated with the organization.  As we grow, we are always interested in expanding our volunteer base.  Below are some common questions which are frequently asked and their answers regarding volunteering.

Do you have a Key Club, Honor Society, sports team or any other group of kids that need service hours? We would love to make a presentation to your organization explaining more about TASK or we can provide you with information via the mail.

How old do I have to be to be a volunteer?  We ask that volunteers be at least the age of 14.

Can I get service hours for volunteering? Yes.  As long as your school, organization, church, etc., is okay with using TASK for your service hours, so are we.  Unfortunately, at this time we cannot give credit for A+ service hours.

What kinds of things will I be doing as a volunteer?  Depending on the sport(s) for which you volunteer, responsibilities range from running athletic stations, shadowing individual athletes, coaching, working with a group of athletes and/or assisting other volunteers.

What kind of commitment must I make?  Most of our programs run for a period of six weeks (excluding camp, swimming and the fitness club).  Each week we meet for one hour.  We ask that you commit to an entire six-week period.  We understand things come up, but we have found that consistency benefits both the athlete and the volunteer.

Where are the programs located?  We have programs throughout the South and West County areas.  For specifics, see the athletic calendar page for locations and dates.

What kind of athletes will I be working with?  TASK is very proud to say we have never turned any athlete away due to a disability.  Possible disabilities you may see include Autism/Asperger's, Attention Deficit Disorder, Behavior Concerns, Down Syndrome, Hearing Impairments, Vision Impairments, Physical Impairments or Speech and Language Impairments.

I want to volunteer,  but where do I start?  The first thing you need to do is e-mail TASK at jpranger.@sbcglobal.net and give your name, address, age and phone number.  We will then contact you through the mail and go from there.
